Chemka Hot Spring

In the morning, we will pick you up. The trip to Chemka Hot Springs takes around an hour. First we will walk around the sugar plantations, and then we will get to the African bushland. Along the way, you can see dry riverbeds, baobabs and acacia trees.

The Kikuletwa Hot Springs, also known as Chemka Hot Springs are located near the village Rundugai and they are one of the most beautiful places to relax by in Tanzania. The small oasis is surrounded by palm trees and fig trees with winding roots. There is crystal clear water that bubbles due to the underground caves. This gives the impression that the water is boiling, hence the name ‘hot springs’. In the morning, you can often see so-called blue monkeys while the crystal clear, turquoise water invites you in for a refreshing bath. Despite the name ‘hot springs’, the water isn’t hot, but refreshing, since the water source comes from Kilimanjaro itself.

You can spend the day doing the day whatever you want. You can relax in the sun, talk to the locals at the bar, or swim. What you do on this day is your choice.
