Ol Pejeta Wildlife Sanctuary, Samburu National Reserve, Lake Bogoria, Lake Naivasha area and attractions & Masai Mara Game Reserve – Best of Kenya Safari
Overview
This 10-day safari offers unlimited game drives – you can be as active as you wish. You’ll see lots of wildlife and enjoy activities like boat rides and guided walking safaris on this safari adventure.
The first part of your journey begins at Ol Pejeta Game Conservancy. If it’s rhinos you’re looking to see, then you’ve come to the right place. Ol Pejeta is famous for having over 100 black rhinos. This is the largest population of black rhinos in East Africa.
Then, you’ll be off to the Samburu National Reserve, where you’ll see some different kinds of wildlife like Grevy’s zebras, Somali ostriches and gerenuks. You can also find hundreds of elephants, leopards, cheetahs and 450 species of birds.
Next, you’ll go to Lake Bogoria. There are hot springs and geysers along the lakeshore. Another exciting thing here is the flamingos. Depending on the season, you’ll be treated to a vast pink sea of flamingos – an unforgettable sight.
After that, you’ll move on to Lake Naivasha. First, you’ll go on a boat safari and sail by hippos and a variety of bird life. Along the shore, you may spot giraffes and zebras.
Then you’ll go on a walking safari at the nearby Crescent Island. This is one of the only places where you can walk amongst giraffes, zebras, waterbucks and impalas. You’ll go to Hell’s Gate National Park. Here, you can walk or cycle past gazelles, impalas, antelopes, zebras, giraffes and buffalo. This is a fun way to experience nature up close and personal.
Your final destination is what Kenya is all about – the Masai Mara – the most exciting game viewing habitat in the world.
The Mara is home to the Big Five as well a variety of wildlife in the region.
Several days of unlimited game drives will take you across these plains and to the Mara River, where hippos and crocodiles are active. Tens of thousands of wildebeests and zebras enter the park in an awesome display of nature during the Great Migration (July-October).
