Day to day itinerary
Our driver will be waiting for you at the airport at the time of your arrival. After you get through customs, you’ll be transferred to your hotel where you can have a rest after a long journey. In the afternoon, (or evening), you will meet with your safari guide or office staff, who will give you a briefing.

You will be picked up from your accommodation and you will travel to Tarangire National Park. After a 3 hour drive you will arrive at Tarangire National Park. The name of this national park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses the park. This river is also the primary source of water for the animals during the annual dry season in Tanzania. Giant baobab trees, bush savannahs and the seasonal marshes add to the wonder of this nature reserve. Tarangire National Park is considered one of the best places to view elephants up close. The park is also home to buffaloes, zebras and wildebeest which are always closely followed by a range of predators such as lions. Leopards are seen every now and again but cheetahs are rarely spotted. From the open roof of the safari vehicle you will be able to take in the landscape and watch the animals. In the late afternoon you will have a hot lunch outside and then you will leave the park and drive to the lodge, where you will stay overnight.

After breakfast we will depart to Ngorongoro. Ngorongoro Conservation Area is named after the Ngorongoro crater, a large volcanic caldera within the area. The crater rim is over 2,200 meters high and the crater area has its own climate. Then we descend over 600 meters into the crater to look at wildlife for half the day. Supported by a year round supply of water and animal food, the Ngorongoro National Park hosts a vast variety of animals, which includes herds of wildebeest, zebras, buffalos, elands, warthogs, hippos, and giant African elephants. Another popular part of this picturesque national park is its dense population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot. We will visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is one of the main attractions of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually been seen here. In the afternoon, you will have a hot lunch outdoors, and and then we will start ascending from the crater and head to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

The park is dominated by the lake of the same name, which attracts large colonies of water birds. The most impressive are the pink-colored flamingos, but also many other bird species such as cormorants, pelicans or storks can be observed here. A total of about 400 different bird species live in the park. The park is also famous for its tree climbing lions, which are usually found in the central and open part of the park. During the safari, you will also see elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos and many other animal species. In the afternoon, you will have a hot lunch outside and in the late afternoon you will leave and head back to Moshi.
