Day trip on Kilimanjaro to Mandara Hut

Marangu Gate (1,860m) to Mandara Hut (2,700m)

In the morning, your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Moshi and take you to the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate (Marangu Gate, 1860m). The ride will take approximately 1 hour. Once the necessary entry registration is complete, your trek can begin and soon you will be walking through the dense rainforest of Kilimanjaro.

In addition to the impressive vegetation, you will have the opportunity to see guerézas, the so-called blue monkeys, and various types of birds. Your English speaking guide will inform you about Kilimanjaro and explain the different types of plants and animals you will see.

After a 3-4 hour hike, you will reach Mandara Hut (2700 m), where you will have a well-deserved rest and lunch. Your guide will then take you on a short hike (15 minutes walk) to the Maundi Crater where you can enjoy spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Northern Tanzania and Kenya. After enjoying the views, you will return to Marangu Gate (2-3 hours walk) where your vehicle will be waiting for your transfer back to your hotel. On the way back you can enjoy the sunset and the memories of the day.
